redbook house party

Last month I hosted a Redbook Happy Hour House Party (read more about House Party here). The party fell on the same weekend as my sister-in-laws birthday, so we combined the two and created one fun girls night!
I designed a party suite in black and white and lots of fun pops of color; it can be used for just about any occasion! We invited some close friends and set up outside for an evening on the patio. We hung paper lanterns and brought in food from Tokyo Joe's including sushi, lettuce wraps, Nikko salad, and peanut skewers. Lemonade and iced tea were on tap and Lipton's single serve Tea & Honey packets were a perfect combo with the bottled water.
After dinner the girls were invited to the Beauty Bar sponsored by L'Oreal. On the table was an amazing mix of products including Redbook tote bags, Redbook Magazines, Lipton tea, and L'Oreal Paris beauty products including nail polish, eye liner, and lipstick, oh my! The girls were invited to grab and bag and pick their swag. They all went home with a tote filled with great items including and a one year subscription to Redbook magazine!
To top the night we celebrated with a Spring Fling cake: zucchini cake topped with cream cheese frosting and layers of fresh fruit. It's one of my all time favorite cakes and the birthday girl's special request! If you are in Denver you can pick one up at The Market on Larimer Square. I baked this one using their recipe and I also made a gluten free cupcake version for those of us who eat GF! YUM!
We spent the evening under the stars talking and laughing and enjoying each other's company. Friends, food, makeup and cake-- Priceless!
